Kairosoft in Thailand

Introduction

Thai is one of the first Southeast Asian languages that Kairosoft has offered official packs, since Late 2016, the Japanese company has translated part of its game collection, including the UI and dialog boxes and even part of the textures using Thai script.

2016 ~ First Translations

Promotional images of the Thai language packs launched in late 2016. It can be noticed that the texture of the game titles were not translated into Thai, instead a small caption indicating the name of the game in the language is used.

Game Dev Story was the first game that Kairosoft translated into Thai, the first release of this language pack was released on December 8, 2016, in which the game was localized as เรื่องราวคนสร้างเกม[1]

On December 15, Kairosoft released its second Thai game, which was Dungeon Village localized as เรื่องราวดันเจี้ยน[2] and later on December 23, the language pack for Hot Springs Story was released, the game was localized as เรื่องราวบ่อน้ำร้อน[3]

2017 ~ Thai Translation Catalog Expansion

One of the variations in the localization of Pocket Academy between English and Thai, is that the version that was delivered to the western market removed the 2 because the original game was never released in those regions so Kairosoft decided to remove the numeral, but this did not happen with the Thai version where the 2 was directly added.
